Yarns: Almost any yarns will work. I recommend one smooth, soft yarn in a medium weight, such as Maulbeerseide (which is 50% silk, 50% wool), or Wendy Velvet Touch (100% nylon); and one textured (fluffy or squiggly) yarn as an accent. Note: For the baby pictured, Dede used two 50-gram/115-yd balls of Wendy Velvet Touch (Color No. 1242), and one 50-gram/74 yd ball of Laines du Nord Portofino, (Color No. 55). For the adult version (Size M-XL) shown, I used five 50-gram/110 yds balls of Horstia Maulbeerseide (Color No., 40) and four 50-gram/55 yds balls of Plymouth Firenze (Color No. 430).. Other sizes: For a child of 8-12, about 350 yards of the plain yarn and 150 yards of textured; sizes XS or S, about 650 yards total, 450 of the plaian and 200 of the textured; or for 2XL-4XL, 1050 yards total, about 650 of the plain and 400 of the textured.
