Mitered Triangular ShawlCrocheted Mitered Triangular Shawl

Materials Required:
TWO skeins (400 yds each),Brooks Farm Ellie (50% Fine Wool, 50% Silk Slub)  total of 800 yards
One ball of lightweight cotton yarn (such as Patons® Grace or Schachenmayr Catania) in contrasting color
Crochet Hooks size M-13 (9 mm) for main body of shawl and size F (3.75 mm) for edging row.
(Note, hook size can be adjusted to size to obtain gauge. Gauge is more important for determining the amount of yarn needed. A large hook is preferable to let the thin/thick texture of the yarn show through.)
Gauge: 10 dc = 4 inches ( 2 rows dc = 1 inch)

Finished size of shawl: appx. 64" wide (along top edge) by 36" deep (from center of back neck to bottom point). If you plan to make your shawl larger than this, you will need additional yarn.

Herringbone Lace ScarfKnitted Herringbone Lace Scarf

Finished Size of Scarf: 5 ½” x 72”

Materials: 4 50-gram balls (109 yards each) of DK-weight yarn.  (I used Adrienne Vittadini’s  merino/silk Martina. Other great choices would be Classic Elite Wool Bamboo, Misti Alpaca Suri Silk, or Plymouth Taj Mahal Super); size 6 needles or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: scarf should measure 5 ½” across.  If it is narrower, move up to larger needles; if it is larger, switch to smaller needles.

You may use fingering, sport, DK, or worsted weight yarn, and nearly any fiber, but generally smooth yarns look best.  In the downloadable pattern, you'll find a chart suggesting yarn amounts, hook size, and other variables for several different types of yarn.

The scarf shown was made with 2 skeins of Lorna’s Laces Lion & Lamb (worsted weight) (3.5 oz. skeins, 205 yards each), 50% silk, 50% wool, in Colorway Icehouse.  The pattern also shows a different scarf, made with four balls of Jojoland Melody (fingering weight) (50 gram balls, 220 yds per ball), 100% superwash wool, Color No. 26.
